Watch Everton v Manchester City Live

Everton and Manchester City will put deadline day dealings to one side when they go in pursuit of three points at Goodison Park.

David Moyes
As the clock ticks down on the January transfer window, Premier League bosses will be left spinning a number of plates on Tuesday evening. David Moyes and Roberto Mancini will be hoping to strike the right balance, with it important for both clubs to ensure that there are no distractions when they take to the field.

Everton are working hard to get fresh faces on board, but they must make do with what they have already got when they welcome the Premier League leaders to Merseyside. The Toffees have been a bit hit and miss of late, with just two points taken from their last four outings. They have, however, fared admirably against City in recent times, with seven victories secured in the last nine meetings between the two clubs.

Moyes' men have also lost only one of their last 13 games against the Blues on home soil, winning eight of those matches. City will make the short journey to their North West neighbours hoping Lady Luck smiles on them on this occasion.

Having re-established a three-point lead at the top of the table, the Blues will be determined to keep their title rivals at arm's length. Unfortunately for Mancini, his side have been struggling with travel sickness of late. City have won just one of their last five games on the road, with that solitary success coming against bottom club Wigan.

Everton are still without a number of key players for the crunch midweek clash. Shane Duffy could continue in central defence in the absence of Sylvain Distin (hamstring) and Phil Jagielka (knee) although fit-again veteran Tony Hibbert is an option. Midfielders Seamus Coleman (thigh), Leon Osman (knee) and Jack Rodwell(hamstring) are also still missing.

Manchester City will welcome club captain Vincent Kompany back from suspension on Tuesday. The defender has missed the club's last four outings but striker Mario Balotelli still has three games remaining of his own four-match ban. Defender Kolo Toure and midfielder Yaya Toure are away on international duty but City have no injury concerns to contend with.
