Championship - Tuesday team news: Morrison doubtful for QPR with groin complaint
Queens Park Rangers' Ravel Morrison (PA Sport)
All the team news ahead of Tuesday’s Championship fixtures, with QPR sweating on the fitness of Ravel Morrison.
Charlton v Bournemouth
Charlton have no new injury concerns for the visit of Bournemouth. New boss Jose Riga may tinker with his attack having overseen two goalless draws since taking over from the sacked Chris Powell last week.
Striker Reza Ghoochannejhad could be recalled after dropping to the bench for Saturday's stalemate at relegation rivals Millwall, while Simon Church provides another option. Defenders Leon Cort and Chris Solly are edging closer to fitness following long-term knee injuries but neither are ready to return just yet.
Bournemouth striker Yann Kermorgant faces a race against time to be fit to face his former club Charlton. The 32-year-old moved to the south coast on the final day of the transfer window but he has been ruled out with a heel injury since grabbing a hat-trick on his full Cherries debut.
And boss Eddie Howe hopes to step up the French striker's rehab with a view of having him available at The Valley. Winger Mohamed Coulibaly will hope to keep his place in the starting line-up having made just his second Bournemouth start on Saturday in the 0-0 draw with Middlesbrough.
Sheffield Wednesday v QPR
Sheffield Wednesday boss Stuart Gray is hopeful goalkeeper Chris Kirkland will be available to face QPR. Kirkland has missed the Owls' last three matches with a calf injury but could return to contention for Tuesday's clash. Defender Joe Mattock is back in training following a spell on the sidelines with a thigh injury and could play some part.
Young forward Caolan Lavery is likely to keep his place in the starting line-up after scoring twice against Birmingham last time out, while Benik Afobe, Jermaine Johnson, Giles Coke and Liam Palmer are among those pushing for recalls.
QPR have new injury worries over four players ahead of the clash.
Saturday's 3-0 win over Yeovil came at a cost with goalkeeper Rob Green suffering suspected cracked ribs and midfielders Armand Traore and Jermaine Jenas picking up hamstring injuries. All three are set to miss out at Hillsborough while two-goal Ravel Morrison needs a fitness check after feeling a groin problem late on.
Benoit Assou-Ekotto could miss out again with the knock he suffered at Brighton last Tuesday while fellow full-back Danny Simpson (back), midfielder Ale Faurlin (knee), winger Matty Phillips (ankle) and strikers Charlie Austin (shoulder) and Andrew Johnson (ankle) remain on the sidelines.
Wigan v Yeovil
Leon Barnett is the latest player added to Wigan's casualty list prior to Yeovil's visit to the DW Stadium. The central defender has a hamstring problem and, although boss Uwe Rosler envisions him playing again this season, he likely faces at least a few weeks on the sidelines.
It is another blow for Latics, who have managed to conjure up an eight-game winning streak despite losing midfield trio Ben Watson (broken leg), Chris McCann (knee) and Roger Espinoza (hernia). The club's development squad play on Tuesday afternoon and the likes of winger Shaun Maloney (hip) and central defender Gary Caldwell (Achilles) are set for another run out as they step up their respective comebacks.
Joe Ralls looks set for a return to Yeovil's starting line-up for the match.
The Cardiff loanee has served his three-match suspension for a red card against Reading and his availability is timely with fellow midfielder Ruben Palazuelos having picked up an injury in the warm up ahead of last Saturday's 3-0 loss at QPR.
His withdrawal meant Luke Ayling moved to partner Joe Edwards in central midfield but Ralls' return could see Ayling drop back to his usual position at right-back. Huddersfield loanee Duane Holmes rolled his ankle before kick off and lasted just 29 minutes before being substituted and if he is unavailable then Kevin Dawson will hope to get the nod.
