Liverpool v Burnley preview

Roberto Firmino is an injury doubt for Liverpool ahead of their Premier League clash with Burnley.

The pacey Brazilian has suffered a knock during the week, and will be assessed ahead of the game at Anfield.

"Roberto Firmino struggles a little. He felt something after the game, and this week he couldn't train, so we need to wait a little bit more and see," Jurgen Klopp told a pre-match press conference.

The Reds can push themselves further into the top four with victory this weekend, with the teams around them not in Premier League action as they take part in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Burnley will be looking to do the double over the Merseysiders after their convincing 2-0 win at the start of the season, although their last win at Anfield was in September 2014.

The Clarets have also struggled on the road this season and although they sit in a comfortable 12th place in the table, just two of their 31 points have come away from Turf Moor.

Liverpool will be without Jordan Henderson and Daniel Sturridge for the Nissan Super Sunday match, with the Reds skipper still suffering with a foot injury and the striker sidelined with a strain.

Dejan Lovren returned from a hip injury against Arsenal last weekend as an unused substitute and could start on Sunday.

Burnley will remain without Steven Defour (hamstring) and Johann Berg Gudmundsson (knee) for the trip to Anfield as they continue to come back from injury while Jon Flanagan is ineligible to face his parent club.

Joey Barton will be available for the visitors though as will Ashley Barnes, who missed out on last weekend's game with Swansea due to suspension, while captain Tom Heaton is expected to return in goal after recovering from an illness.
