Richarlison has scored twice in seven appearances for Watford

A last-gasp goal from Richarlison was enough to give Watford all three points at the Liberty Stadium.

The win has ensured the Hornets made it three top-flight away wins in a row for the first time in their history, while Swansea have now lost three home games on the spin.

Watford hit the front with the first decent chance of the game on 13 minutes. The returning Wilfried Bony squandered possession in the middle of the field for Swansea and they were heavily punished.

Watford countered with pace and Andre Gray fed the ball wide to Andre Carrillo. His cross was almost intercepted by Sam Clucas but he inadvertently managed to divert the ball back to Gray who made no mistake.

Swansea really should have drawn level five minutes later, Leroy Fer's header across goal somehow evading Fabrice Fernandez at close quarters.

Before the break, Carrillo had the ball in the Swansea net again, after good work from Richarlison and Jose Holebas but he was denied by the offside flag.

On the stroke of half-time, Bony missed a guilt-edged chance to level from a free header inside the box.

Swansea upped their tempo after the interval and drew level on 56 minutes.

Bony again found himself on the end of a good cross and, having had two stabs, he drew a save from Heurelho Gomes but the breaking ball fell kindly for sub Tammy Abraham to net from closer range.

Bony and Abraham went close again for the home side while at the other end sub Troy Deeney had a shot well saved by Lukasz Fabianski.

It appeared as if a share of the spoils would ensue but then some poor defending from the home side gift-wrapped the points to Watford.

Roque Mesa tried to be too clever at the back and his pass ricocheted off Deeney for Richarlison, who was able to smash it into the net off the underside of the crossbar to send the Hornets home in raptures.
