EPL: Arsenal 2-0 Brighton

Alex Iwobi scored Arsenal's second after a slick move
Arsenal's unbeaten run continues to seven matches in all competitions in a 2-0 win over Brighton.
Since being thrashed 4-0 by Liverpool, Arsenal have gone on a seven-match unbeaten run and never looked in any real danger of a shock home loss, Nacho Monreal opening the scoring with only his second league goal for the north Londoners.
Alex Iwobi added a second after the break and it could have been more for Arsenal had they not wasted several good chances.
The Gunners nearly broke the deadlock after just two minutes when Alexandre Lacazette’s half-volley from 25 yards crashed against the post.
The breakthrough came in the 17th minute when Granit Xhaka's free-kick caused chaos in the Brighton box, Lacazette's header hitting the post before Shkodran Mustafi's effort was blocked on the line, the ball eventually dropping for Monreal to stroke his shot home.
Having been on the back foot for the majority of the first half, the Seagulls nearly levelled matters when they caught Arsenal out with a free-kick routine, the ball coming to Solly March on the edge of the box and his effort beat Petr Cech but came back off the post, Lewis Dunk missing the target with the follow-up.
Brighton goalkeeper Mathew Ryan then made a great save to prevent the hosts doubling their lead, denying Aaron Ramsey with his legs after a quick Arsenal counter attack.
The Gunners did eventually double their advantage 11 minutes after the half-time interval, Alexis Sanchez producing a piece of magic inside the penalty area as his backheel found Alex Iwobi, the Nigerian stroking the ball past Ryan.
With Arsenal well on top, Brighton did well to keep the score down, Ryan denying Sanchez with a good save before March cleared Sead Kolasinac’s header off the line.
Chris Hughton’s men did rally towards the end, Glenn Murray hitting the side netting with his header but it wasn’t enough to rescue the situation as Brighton slipped to a third defeat in four away Premier League matches.
