EPL: Burnley v West Ham preview

Burnley v West Ham preview

Burnley will be looking to maintain their impressive start to the season when they play host to West Ham at Turf Moor on Saturday.

The Clarets are riding high in sixth position in the Premier League standings after collecting 12 points from their opening seven games, while their six-game unbeaten run in the league is their best top-flight sequence since 1975.

Only Manchester United and Manchester City have conceded less league goals than Sean Dyche's side this term and they will head into Saturday's match on the back of a 1-0 win at Everton before the international break.

However, Burnley's recent record against West Ham does not make for pretty reading, as they have lost the last five meetings between the two sides, with their last victory in the fixture coming in December 2011.

The Clarets will head into the match with no fresh injury concerns, although Jonathan Walters remains sidelined with a knee problem, while Tom Heaton, Nahki Wells and Dean Marney also remain unavailable.

West Ham are still waiting for their first away win of the season in the top-flight, while they have only managed to score in one of their four away fixtures to date.

Boss Slaven Bilic remains under pressure with the Hammers just two points above the relegation zone, although they do head into the weekend on the back of their 1-0 home success against Swansea last time out.

Midfielders Pedro Obiang and Edmilson Fernandes are expected to be fit for Saturday’s match, although James Collins remains unavailable due to an ankle injury.
