WCQ: England v Slovenia preview

England v Slovenia preview
England need just a point at home to Slovenia on Thursday night to seal qualification for next year's World Cup finals in Russia.
The Three Lions remain unbeaten in their Group F qualifying campaign, with six wins and two draws, and know a draw will be enough to confirm their place in next summer's tournament.
England will be without Dele Alli for the Wembley clash, with the Tottenham star suspended for one game by Fifa due to his middle-finger misdemeanour in September's home win over Slovakia.
Fellow Spurs ace Harry Kane will once again be handed the captain's armband and will start up front, with Manchester City wideman Raheem Sterling expected to replace the missing Alli.
Slovenia can still secure a place in the top two and head to Wembley having lost just two of their last eight qualifying matches, including a 4-0 home win over Lithuania last time out.
The head-to-head stats don't bode well though for the visitors, who have never beaten England although they have scored on their last two visits to Wembley. The meeting in Ljubljana finished in a goalless draw a year ago in Gareth Southgate's second game in charge.
