EPL: Burnley v Swansea preview

Burnley v Swansea preview

Burnley will look to maintain their best start to a top-flight season since 1973 when Swansea visit Turf Moor on Saturday.

Under the shrewd stewardship of Sean Dyche, Burnley have won their last two matches and could make it three wins on the bounce for the first time in the Premier League with another victory.

Goals have been hard to come by at Turf Moor though as Dyche's side have scored more than one goal in only one of the last 13 home Premier League games, courtesy of a 2-2 draw with West Brom in May.

Meanwhile, Swansea are in danger of losing four Premier League games on the spin. They last when through a similar run in December last year when Bob Bradley was sacked.

However, they've won more points away (5) than at home (3) this season with their sole victory on the road coming against Crystal Palace.

Swansea manager Paul Clement says Burnley have shown a remarkable ability to 'manage games this season' with the Clarets currently 11 points and 12 positions better off than Saturday's opponents

Team news

Burnley's Chris Wood suffered a hamstring problem on international duty for New Zealand and is a doubt for Saturday.

Tom Heaton and Jon Walters remain long-term absentees.

Swansea welcome back Wilfried Bony and Renato Sanches.

Bony and Sanches have missed recent games with respective hamstring and thigh injuries, while new player-coach Leon Britton is over a groin problem.

Martin Olsson is also available after hamstring trouble and Ki Sung-yueng will be assessed after returning from international duty with South Korea.
