EPL: Leicester City 0-2 Manchester City

Manchester City ease to a routine victory over Leicester City to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League.

The win saw City move nine points clear at the top of the table following Tottenham's defeat to Arsenal in the early kick off.

The match could have gone in a completely different direction, however, as Vincent Kompany was shown an early yellow card for a late lunge on Jamie Vardy when it could easily have been red.

The City captain escaped with just a caution, despite Jamie Vardy bearing down on goal - much to the dismay of Claude Puel.

More questions were raised of the City defence on the half an hour mark, as John Stones limped off with a hamstring injury which may well result in a long spell on the sidelines, and he was replaced by Eliaquim Mangala as Leicester threatened to upset the league leaders.

However, just before half time the visitors produced some lovely one-touch football, which culminated in Gabriel Jesus firing the Sky Blues ahead from close range.

After the break Harry Maguire prodded a deflected effort against the woodwork following a Leicester corner, which City were eventually able to clear.

From the counter attack, Kevin De Bruyne struck an emphatic shot from outside of the area, leaving Foxes goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel with no chance.

The hosts huffed and puffed but never really threatened the goal as Guardiola's men glided to a comfortable win to extend their unbeaten start to the season.
