EPL: Leicester v Manchester City preview

Leicester v Manchester City preview

Manchester City could become the second team to win their first six away games of a Premier League campaign when they visit Leicester City on Saturday.

Manchester City have recorded the best start to a Premier League season after 11 games by taking 31 points with a goal difference of +31 as Pep Guardiola's men have been in steamrolling mood.

Such a meaty goal difference after 11 games has only been bettered by Preston in 1889-90 (+33) and Sunderland in 1893-94 (+32) in top-flight history.

City's title rivals will be hoping Leicester can derail City's charge.

The Foxes won the corresponding fixture 4-2 last season when Jamie Vardy netted his first Premier League hat-trick.

Manchester City are without centre-back Nicolas Otamendi and makeshift left-back Fabian Delph is doubtful for Saturday's game.

Otamendi is suspended and Delph is still troubled by the calf injury that forced him to pull out of England's friendlies against Germany and Brazil. Forward Raheem Sterling, who also missed England's matches, is much improved after a back problem while there are no concerns over striker Sergio Aguero after he was taken ill while on international duty.

Captain Vincent Kompany, out since August with a calf injury, has a chance of returning but Eliaquim Mangala is another defensive option. Left-back Benjamin Mendy (knee) is out long-term.

Leicester's Vicente Iborra, who came off with an ankle problem in the 2-2 draw at Stoke after scoring his first goal for the club, is fit again.

Ben Chilwell (knee) is also available, but Robert Huth (knee) will miss out and midfielder Matty James is also troubled by an Achilles problem.
