EPL: Manchester City v Southampton preview

Manchester City v Southampton preview
Southampton become the latest team to try and derail the Manchester City express when they travel to the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday.
The Citizens had to work hard for their 12th win in 13 Premier League matches on Sunday as they came from behind to see off a dogged Huddersfield Town.
The 2-1 win at the John Smith's Stadium kept them eight points clear of Manchester United but that gap could be down to five points by the time they kick-off against the Saints.
City, who have won their last 18 matches in all competitions, could choose to shuffle the pack having been pushed to the limit by the Terriers with the likes of Gabriel Jesus, Ilkay Gundogan, Bernando Silva and Danilo set to come in.
John Stones is still out with a hamstring injury, while Benjamin Mendy is missing with a serious knee injury.
Southampton will travel to Manchester buoyed by their 4-1 victory over Everton, ending a three-match winless run.
The emphatic victory over the Toffees was only the third time this season in which the Saints have scored more than one goal but they will be hard-pressed to improve upon that record against a City side who have allowed the fewest shots on target.
Southampton's hopes are boosted by the fact they have no fresh injuries to contend with, Mario Lemina having made his comeback in the win over Everton.
Lemina should be fit enough to start on Wednesday, while Oriol Romeu is available again having served a one-match ban at the weekend.
Will Southampton dent City's title aspiratons against all the odds
