EPL: Man Utd v Man City preview

Man Utd v Man City preview
Manchester United will aim to close the gap to rivals City to five points with victory at Old Trafford in Sunday's derby.
The Red Devils have racked up four consecutive Premier League victories whilst they also managed to top their Champions League group with a 2-1 win at home to CSKA Moscow on Tuesday night.
United also have a good recent record against Manchester City, losing just one of the previous six meetings, and the 20-time English champions will be hoping that mental edge helps them to a crucial three points.
Jose Mourinho will be able to call upon the services of defender Phil Jones, who is back to full fitness after recovering from an injury picked up during the last international break, but Eric Bailly is out with a niggle.
Midfielder Nemanja Matic has also been declared fit while fellow midfielder Marouane Fellaini will be assessed over the next 36 hours, but Paul Pogba is missing after being sent-off in the win over Arsenal.
City have been in sensational form so far this season and they currently stand unbeaten in England's top-flight, winning 14 and drawing one of their 15 matches to date, leaving the club eight points clear at the top.
However, Pep Guardiola's men tasted defeat for the first time across all competitions with a 2-1 loss to Shakhtar last time out although it was a much-changed team for that final Champions League group clash.
Captain Vincent Kompany will be assessed over an unspecified problem but midfielder David Silva, who was expected to miss the game, has overcome a knock and is available for selection.
England international Fabian Delph has recovered from a sickness bug, meaning defenders John Stones and Benjamin Mendy are the only long-term absentees.
