UEL: Arsenal 6-0 BATE Borisov

Arsenal's biggest win this season yet.

Arsenal proved their superiority over the rest of Europa League Group H as they ended the pool stages with a 6-0 win over BATE Borisov.

Once again Arsene Wenger made 11 changes to his starting line-up, with Theo Walcott's inclusion for the first time since November grabbing the headlines, with him also wearing the armband. 

The Gunners started well, Mohamed Elneny hitting the post early on, and got a breakthrough after 11 minutes.

Walcott appeared to be fouled in the area after some nice play down the right but it did not matter as the ball trickled to Mathieu Debuchy who rifled past the goalkeeper.

It remained extremely one-sided but Arsenal struggled to beat Denis Scherbitskiy, who made a string of fine saves in the opening half hour.

However, the resistance could not last forever and it was Walcott who grabbed the second, firing home following shambolic defending, Nemanja Milunovic inadvertently providing the assist with a poor sliding clearance.

A third followed before the break, Jack Wilshere the scorer as having been denied moments before, he danced away from a group of defenders and powered a left-footed shot into the net.

It was more of the same in the second half, with Denis Polyakov putting through his own net on 51 minutes and just after the hour, Arsenal further extended their lead from the penalty spot 

Milunovic was again at fault, fouling Walcott and Olivier Giroud swept home from the penalty spot at the second time of asking, after his original effort was ruled out for encroachment.

It was Elneny's turn on 74, curling in a delicious strike from the left side of the area and that's how it stayed as the Gunners rounded off an impressive group stage campaign with a convincing 6-0 win.
