EPL: West Brom v Huddersfield preview

West Brom v Huddersfield preview

Jonny Evans will return as captain on Saturday as West Brom target a much-needed Premier League victory against fellow strugglers Huddersfield.

The Baggies have lost their last four games in all competitions, including last weekend's FA Cup fifth round game against Southampton, and are seven points adrift of the safety of 17th place - currently occupied by Huddersfield.

But West Brom manager Alan Pardew is refusing to label the game a 'must win', saying: "For us, the word 'must-win' is bit of an irritant. We know how important the game is. Nothing's over until it's over. 'The Fat Lady' isn't in the room yet.

"They [Huddersfield] are not going to make it easy for us, we're not going to be able to roll them over and win comfortably. It'll be a tight, ferocious affair because it's every bit as important to them as it is us."

Huddersfield were 4-1 winners against Bournemouth in their last Premier League outing, and David Wagner is hoping the momentum can help his side pick up more points on Saturday.

"I think it's a good time to meet them because of us, because of our momentum and our performances we have shown in the past. It's up to us to show it again, against West Brom," he said.

Kieran Gibbs and Jake Livermore will be available for West Brom on Saturday, but Nacer Chadli, James Morrison and Daniel Sturridge are expected to miss out.

For Huddersfield, Alex Pritchard is back in contention after being ineligible for last week's FA Cup defeat at Manchester United.

Aaron Mooy is sidelined due to an infected cut on a knee, but Michael Hefele has recovered from illness and Chris Lowe hopes to shake off a hamstring strain.
