Cardiff v Burnley preview

Neil Warnock has urged his Cardiff side to "hang in there" after their winless start to the Premier League season.

Cardiff head into a crunch visit from Burnley, live on Super Sunday, joint-bottom with just two points from six games and fresh from 4-1 and 5-0 defeats by Chelsea and Manchester City respectively.

The Bluebirds are unbeaten in 13 matches against the Clarets in all competitions but they are winless in seven games in all competitions so far this season.

"The fixture list has not been kind to us, the first 10 games we play seven of the top teams from last year," manager Warnock said.

"It is a little bit cruel on us, but we just have to hang in there.

Burnley are aiming for back-to-back league wins for the first time since April as they head to Wales and a first away Premier League success against a promoted club.

The Clarets suffered a midweek Carabao Cup exit at the hands of Sky Bet League One outfit Burton Albion, and Sean Dyche knows the trip to Cardiff is the perfect opportunity to improve his side's poor form on the road.

Lee Peltier starts a lengthy spell on the sidelines as Cardiff host Burnley in the Premier League on Sunday.

The defender is facing two to three months out after dislocating a shoulder against Manchester City last weekend, but the defender will not require an operation as the injury will heal naturally.

Aron Gunnarsson (knee) remains out, but Sol Bamba is expected to return in defence with Bruno Ecuele Manga moving to right back in Peltier's absence.

Burnley are likely to be without Robbie Brady as he continues to build up his fitness while Ben Gibson remains out (hernia). Nick Pope is the only other long-term absentee as he continues to recover from a dislocated shoulder.
