How to open Sopcast with VLC ?

Download and install VLC
Download VLC player from here


Open Sopcast, and go to Options
Choose the external player

Use my Own Player Select there VLC.exe from VideoLAN installation directory, probably: C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe

Next just select a channel as normal from the sopcast application, then click on the "external player icon" as in the image above.

Some Sopcast broadcasters use the H264 video codec to improve the quallity of the video, Sopcast does not use this codec very well, however the VLC player can.
