FA Cup: Sunderland v Burnley preview

Sunderland v Burnley preview
Joey Barton could make his second debut for Burnley when they take on Sunderland in the third round of the FA Cup.
Barton has re-signed for his former club until the end of the season and should appear in a changed starting XI.
Tom Heaton should make way in goal for either Paul Robinson or Nick Pope, while loanees Patrick Bamford and John Flanagan have been made available by Chelsea and Liverpool and could make rare starts.
Sunderland will have to contend with a lengthy injury list for Burnley’s visit, with the Mackems missing a total of nine first-team players for Saturday’s clash. They will be forced to make at least two changes from their last match against the Clarets – both Lamine Kone and Victor Anichebe were withdrawn at Turf Moor.

Sunderland (from): TBA
Burnley (from): Robinson, Pope, Lowton, Keane, Mee, Darikwa, Ward, Arfield, Boyd, Hendrick, Vokes, Gray, Barnes, Bamford, O'Neill, Kightly, Defour, Tarkowski, Gudmundsson.
