EPL: Crystal Palace v Swansea City preview

Crystal Palace v Swansea City preview

Crystal Palace and Swansea will both be chasing their first top-flight wins of the season when they meet a Selhurst Park on Saturday.

The Eagles have opened up the campaign with defeats against Huddersfield and Liverpool, although Frank de Boer did manage to get his first win since taking over as manager against Ipswich in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.

Palace's recent record against Swansea is also poor, as they have only won one of the last 12 meetings between the two sides, losing both encounters last season.

Indeed goals were aplenty when the two sides met last term, with 12 being scored in total, although both sides are yet to net in the league this season.

Palace's chances of finding the back of the net should be boosted by the return to the starting line-up of forward Christian Benteke, who was an unused substitute during the week, while Jairo Riedewald should also be available following injury.

Wilfried Zaha will not feature however, as he continues his recovery from a knee injury.
Swansea also secured their first win of the season in the Carabao Cup, as they ran out comfortable 4-1 winners against MK Dons.

Paul Clement's side have only won one of their last nine top-flight matches away from home, although they did record a 2-1 win at Palace earlier this year.

The Swans will once again have to do without the services of last season's top scorer, Fernando Llorente, who is continuing his recovery from a broken arm, while Kyle Bartley, Nathan Dyer and Sung-Yeung Ki are also unavailable.
New signing Sam Clucas could make his debut however, following his big-money transfer from Hull.
