CC: Reading 0-2 Swansea City

Mawson (second left) scored his fifth goal for Swansea
Second half goals from Alfie Mawson and Jordan Ayew secured Swansea a 2-0 victory at Reading in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.
Reading started the match on the front foot, but they struggled to create clear openings, although Roy Beerens did waste an opportunity when he blazed over from the edge of the box.
Gradually Swansea started to stamp their authority on the game and Luciano Narsingh soon had the ball in the back of the net, but his effort was ruled out for an infringement on Jordan Obita.
Narsingh then missed a great opportunity just after that, but he was denied by Reading stopper Anssi Jaakkola.
Into the second-half and Swansea took the lead in the 52nd minute when Mawson volleyed Renato Sanches’ corner home from inside the six-yard box, although his effort deflected in off Reading defender Chris Gunter.
Swansea almost doubled their lead with 15 minutes to play when substitute Ayew had a right-footed effort saved by Jaakkolo and the ball then wouldn’t fall for Wilfried Bony inside the six-yard box.
Ayew did get his goal with seven minutes to play, as he clinically fired a right-foot effort into the corner of the net after a neat assits from elroy fer.
So Swansea have advanced through to round four, while Reading will have to turn their focus back to the Championship.
