EPL: Burnley v Huddersfield Town preview

Burnley v Huddersfield Town preview

Burnley will look to build on their best start to a Premier League season, when they play host to Huddersfield Town.

The Clarets have eight points from their first five matches, with their only defeat coming against West Brom at Turf Moor, and they prepare to face a Huddersfield side that remain sixth despite no wins in their last three games in all competitions.

Sean Dyche remains without two of his attacking players for the visit of the Terriers, with Jon Walters still sidelined with a knee injury and ex-Huddersfield man Nakhi Wells not available yet following an ankle operation.

Burnley could had a recall to midfielder Jeff Hendrick, who has recovered from a recent thigh injury, while Nick Pope will start again in goal after replacing the injured Tom Heaton at Anfield last weekend.

David Wagner has a number of injury issues to contend with, as five first-team stars are missing. Steve Mounie, Danny Williams, Kasey Palmer, Jon Gorenc Stankovic and Collin Quaner have all been ruled out.

The visitors, who have not beaten Burnley in their last three meetings, are also expected to hand late fitness tests to Laurent Depoitre and Rajiv van La Parra, who both have muscle injuries.
