EPL: Swansea City v Watford preview

Swansea City v Watford preview

Watford will look to bounce back from their shocking defeat to Manchester City when they travel to the Liberty Stadium to face Swansea.

The Hornets were found wanting when they hosted the Citizens last weekend, losing 6-0 after Sergio Aguero scored a hat-trick.

Despite City’s superior quality, the result did come as a surprise, considering Watford’s cracking start to the season.

Marco Silva's men went into the game unbeaten in the league but they must now regroup after a tough few days.

Silva is still without centre-back Miguel Britos due to suspension, while defenders Sebastian Prodl and Younes Kaboul miss the Swans trip with thigh and hamstring injuries respectively.

Full-back Kiko Femenia returns from concussion but he may be put to the test by Wilfried Bony, the Ivory Coast international could be handed his first start since rejoining the club in August.

Swansea coach Paul Clement does have some selection headaches though with Ki Sung-yeung, Nathan Dyer and Kyle Bartley all long-term injury problems.

Watford have only lost once to Swansea in their last five meetings, but their record in Wales is worrying.
The Hornets have won just two of their trips to Swansea since 1983 but goals should not be expected this weekend.

The last four meetings have produced just three goals but Silva will be hoping for any form of response after last week’s debacle.
