Everton v Arsenal preview

Everton manager Ronald Koeman is in desperate need of three points in Sunday's Premier League clash against Arsenal at Goodison Park.

Everton's season has been a disaster so far and Thursday's 2-1 Europa League defeat at home to Lyon - a result that leaves the club bottom of Group E - has left Koeman fighting for his future.

The Toffees are languishing towards the bottom of the top flight table and, although the Dutch tactician insists he has the full support of the board, many believe another poor result will spell the end of his reign.

However, Koeman could become the first manager to win his first four home Premier League matches against Arsene Wenger, having won the first three by an aggregate score of 8-1.

Wayne Rooney, Leighton Baines and Phil Jagielka will all play some part on Sunday after missing the Europa League match whilst James McCarthy could make his comeback having recovered from a knee injury.

Arsenal managed to bounce back to winning ways following the 2-1 defeat to Watford with a hard-fought 1-0 win against Crvena Zvezda in Serbia on Thursday, leaving the Gunners top of Group H.

The defeat to the Hornets was the only loss in their last nine league and cup games and the visitors will be confident of picking up all three points in what will be Arsene Wenger's 400th Premier League away match.

Arsenal will be without forward Danny Welbeck for the trip but the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Alexandre Lacazette are expected to return after being rested for the Europa League contest.
