EPL: West Ham United 0-3 Brighton

Glenn Murray of Brighton and Hove Albion scores their third goal

Brighton's maiden Premier League away win heaped the pressure on West Ham boss Slaven Bilic at the London Stadium.

The hosts delivered a listless performance and were in deep trouble from the moment Glenn Murray opened the scoring early on. Chris Hughton's side controlled much of the game as West Ham toiled, much to the frustration of the restless natives.

Brighton hit the front on ten minutes, with their first real foray into the West Ham half. Lewis Dunk was tripped by Pedro Obiang and from Pascal Gross' angled free-kick into the box, Murray was afforded plenty time and space to glance a downward header past Joe Hart.

The Hammers had plenty possession through the half but, in truth, they rarely looked capable of restoring parity as Javier Hernandez cut a frustrated and isolated figure up top. Summer signing Marco Arnautovic meanwhile was ineffective and, seemingly, disinterested at times.

On the stroke of half-time, the Seagulls swopped to double their lead.

Initially, West Ham were carved open and Murray found himself one on one with Hart, who managed to beat his shot away. They failed to clear their lines however and Jose Izquierdo punished them severely.

Brighton's record signing cut in off the left and fired a shot at goal. Hart got a strong hand, seemingly, up to the ball but could only palm it into the corner of the net leaving the London Stadium silenced.

West Ham's rally failed to materialise in the second half, Manuel Lanzini's free-kick just after the hour clipping the wall and flying just wide with their best attempt.

With a quarter of an hour remaining, Murray controlled a deep cross from Bruno Salter and then drew a tired foul from Pablo Zabaleta leaving Martin Atkinson little option to point to the spot.

Murray dusted himself off and blast straight down the middle past Hart to seal the point and Brighton's first Premier League away win.

Anything that West Ham did muster wads defended stoutly by the Brighton central defensive pairing of Dunk and Shane Duffy.

At the end, with the stadium nearly deserted, a chorus of boos rang out as Bilic cut a concerned figure on the sideline.
