Marouane Fellaini scored twice as Manchester United cruised to a straightforward 4-0 victory against rock-bottom Crystal Palace.
The Eagles have now lost their first seven Premier League matches of the season and failed to score in any of them.
Palace made the worst possible start as, after less than three minutes, Marcus Rashford easily beat Joel Ward and found Juan Mata who fired a low drive home.
United almost scored again when Nemanja Matic and then Mata went close while Palace, without the injured Christian Benteke, struggled to create anything of note.
After their early dominance, United began to treat the match as a training exercise but the Eagles were unable to take advantage despite Yohan Cabaye’s promptings.
Jose Mourinho’s team doubled their advantage nine minutes before the interval when Ashley Young’s pinpoint cross found Fellaini and the Belgian midfielder side-footed the ball past Wayne Hennessey.
United almost scored a third goal just before the interval but Chris Smalling headed Henrikh Mkhitaryan's corner wide from close range. while Rashford was denied by a post.
It was 3-0 four minutes after the interval though when Fellaini got his head to Rashford’s curling free-kick as Palace defended the set-piece poorly.
United began to get complacent again though and Mourinho brought on Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial in an attempt to reinvigorate his cruising side.
A fourth goal seemed likely and it finally came with four minutes left when Romelu Lukaku turned Martial’s cross past Hennessey to complete the rout.
