EPL: Manchester United v Tottenham preview

Manchester United v Tottenham preview

It's second against third in Saturday's early kick off, as Manchester United seek a fourth consecutive home win over Tottenham.

The hosts have beaten Spurs without conceding a goal in their last three meetings at Old Trafford, including a 1-0 success last December - when Henrikh Mkhitaryan scored the only goal.

United remain unbeaten in all competitions at home this term - winning all six Old Trafford games - but they do go into this game off the back of their only defeat of the season, the 2-1 loss at Huddersfield.

Jose Mourinho has been boosted by the news that central defenders Eric Bailly, who has been sidelined since the end of September, and Phil Jones are both available after injury.

The hosts should also have Ander Herrera and Marcus Rashford in the matchday squad after recovering from recent knocks, but Paul Pogba is still sidelined with a hamstring problem.

Spurs suffered their first defeat in 12 matches in midweek, going down at home to West Ham in the League Cup, but it's their away form that has really caught the eye this term.

Mauricio Pochettino's men have won every Premier League away game so far - four out of four - and have kept clean sheets in three of those four matches.

The visitors have been dealt a major blow with the news that Harry Kane will miss out. The England striker missed Wednesday's clash with the Hammers due to a hamstring strain, which he suffered in the 4-1 win over Liverpool last Sunday, and Pochettino confirmed his absence for Saturday's clash.

Spurs are also boosted by the news that Mousa Dembele and Danny Rose are available, although former Southampton man Victor Wanyama is still sidelined with a knee issue.
