EPL: Newcastle United 0-3 Watford

Watford players celebrate at Newcastle
Watford have made it back-to-back wins in the Premier League following their 3-0 triumph over Newcastle at St James' Park.
The match began in a lively fashion as both teams had half-chances, with Newcastle coming close through Matt Ritchie’s low drive while Richarlison was denied at the other end by the fingertips of Rob Elliott.
It didn’t take long for the deadlock to be broken as Will Hughes gave Watford the lead in the 19th minute after he calmly converted Marvin Zeegelaar’s low cross.
Zeegelaar then set up Abdoulaye Doucoure just two minutes later but the midfielder failed to convert from six yards.
Watford did double their advantage on the stroke of half-time when the lively Zeegelaar was again the architect after his cross was turned into his own net by DeAndre Yedlin.
Andre Gray then missed a great opportunity to wrap up the points just after the restart, firing wide from close range.
However, Gray did make it 3-0 on 62 minutes when he rounded off a superb team move to seal the points for the visitors.
Newcastle’s best chance of the second half was wasted by Joselu whose tame effort was saved by Heurelho Gomes, but in truth the Magpies never really looked like scoring a consolation goal.
