EPL: Watford v Manchester United preview

Watford v Manchester United preview

Watford will welcome back Troy Deeney to the squad for Tuesday night's clash with Manchester United at Vicarage Road.

The Hornets captain has missed the last three games through suspension and although Watford have won the last two fixtures, the striker could make an instant return to the starting XI.

Miguel Britos was replaced by Sebastian Prodl in the early stages of Saturday's 3-0 win at Newcastle and the Austrian could start on Tuesday - which would be his first start since August.

Watford won this fixture 3-1 last season but that was their first victory in 13 meetings with the Red Devils in all competitions. A win on Tuesday would earn the hosts three straight Premier League victories for only the second time.

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho's men have lost three of their last four away games - failing to score in two of those matches, against Chelsea and Basel.

Romelu Lukaku is free to play after avoiding punishment for his conduct towards Brighton defender Gaetan Bong on Saturday, while Marcos Rojo is in contention to make his first league appearance for over seven months.

Mourinho and Marco Silva are good friends and the Watford manager feels it's "important and a good sign" that he has been compared with his Portuguese counterpart.
